Sherbrooke Village has an opening for Four Museum Assistants
Description #1 - Reporting to the Director of Visitor Experiences and Landscape/Garden/Farm personnel, the Museum Assistant will train to provide knowledgeable and courteous interpretation of Sherbrooke Village grounds, heritage and history of buildings, lifestyles, site and collection of artifacts, all within Provincial Health & Safety Guidelines. Hours for this position will be 8:30am to 4:00pm, five days per week with ½ hour for lunch from June 8 to July 31, 2020. (Dates are subject to change but will remain within the 8 weeks) Salary is $13:00 per hour.
Description #2 - Reporting to the Director of Visitor Experiences and the Supervisor of Interpretation, the Museum Assistant will help develop and implement programs for public/visitor participation and enjoyment while interpreting the site and heritage of Sherbrooke Village. The history accurately reflects a representative sample of a period village from 1860 to 1914 with emphasis on the 1860s, complete with costumes, buildings, grounds and programs befitting its presence. Position will require preparation, maintenance, and renewal consistent with the mission and philosophy of the museum. Candidate will be expected to wear period costume.
Hours will be 9:30am to 5:00pm five days per week with ½ hour for lunch from July 6 to August 28, 2020. (Dates are subject to change but will remain within the 8 weeks) Salary is $13:00 per hour.
